We would like to encourage all NPE Lions to come out and cheer on the Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team (WWAST) this Friday, November 20, at the Capital City Showdown. Playing for the Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team will be United States Air Force Technical Sgt. Leonard Anderson, who recently spoke to our NPE Lions for GRIT week.
“It’s the small battles that win the war,” he said. “So you kind of learn you take everything step by step in small increments and get back to where you were.”
Anderson plays on the Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team, which spreads that message through exhibition play nationwide. Every member of the team is a veteran who has lost a limb.
Come out and support the team as they play USC Softball Alumni at 6:00 pm and Local First Responders at 8:00pm. The game will be held at the Carolina Softball Stadium at Beckham Field. Free Admission with donations accepted. See Flyer
