Dear Santa

The fifth grade Musical Theater students presented the holiday musical “Dear Santa”  for all New Providence students and staff today.  The students’ outstanding performance included singing, dancing, acting, costumes, and stage props!  The Musical Theater class is taught by Ms. Heather Johnson.

Several fifth grade students in Ms. Davis’ class wrote about their family “Holiday Traditions”.  Listen as these three share!

We wish all of you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

STEM Safari at NPES!

STEM Safari is an interactive day where students explore STEM concepts first-hand. Students collaborate with their peers to inquire about careers related to STEM, conduct hands-on investigations, and learn problem solving strategies.
All students participate in four STEM related activities throughout the day:

  • School Wide Assembly: Mad Science Fire and Ice Assembly explores the States of Matter through exciting demonstrations.
  • Problem-Solving Challenge: During related arts, grades levels apply a variety of problem solving strategies to complete tasks as a team
  • STEM Scavenger Hunt: Using iPads, students explore STEM facts, careers, and real-world examples through an interactive QR code scavenger hunt.
  • Grade Level Hands-On Investigation: Each grade level has a unique hands on investigation related to science, technology, engineering, or math. Students face the challenge of using inquiry skills to answer a question, design a model or plan, and draw a conclusion.

Honoring our Veterans at NPES!

Students and staff honored our veterans with several special activities on Monday, November 12th!  Children wrote letters and made cards to give veterans thanking them for their service. Students were encouraged to invite and bring veterans for a free breakfast after which a flag-waving parade was held down “Mane” Street. Some veterans spoke in classrooms. We appreciate our veterans!  Thank You!
